Difficult Site Conditions
DIFFICULT SITE CONDITIONS
Difficult site conditions are encountered in this region due to the redevelopment of building sites, soil types encountered, geologic conditions and site topography. Our extensive experience with development and construction related to difficult soil, rock and groundwater situations is applied to each clients needs.
Some of the typical difficult site conditions encountered are:
- Karst/Sinkhole activity (caves, crevices, sinkholes, soft soils), (low bearing, found soil loss)
- Soft/Wet soil conditions (low bearing capacity/found settlement)
- Pyretic (Expansive) shale (foundation heave)
- Shallow Groundwater (Flooded foundations/subgrade)
- Expansive/Sensitive Soil (Foundation heave/settlement)
- Unsuitable Fill (Foundation settlement)
- Unsuitable Slopes (Limit site development)
- Shallow Bedrock (Difficult excavation)
- Unsuitable on site borrow material (Limit site development)
